In 2017, Italian restaurateur and legendary truffle hunter Umberto Ferri opened Casa Modena in Culver City, bringing the Emilia-Romagna tradition of good, authentic Italian food to an eager clientele. This hidden gem has become an “insider’s hangout,” featuring homemade pasta and fresh ingredients made from scratch daily, and fresh truffles imported directly from Italy. Small and intimate, every detail of the restaurant’s decor and ambience reflects the relaxed spirit of the region––from the long, family-sized patio table, to the cheerful bar, comfortable dining room, and festive Italian lights. A clever wall display houses Umberto’s truffle products, which are available for sale at Casa Modena and The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills. The menu features 4-5 specials daily, full bar, and an interesting array of Italian wines.

Every dish was an event and composed with care
If you have traveled in Italy you may have had an evening when you found yourself wandering the narrow streets of the old part of town, ready to eat, and hoping to find someplace authentic and good.. You walked into a small and simple restaurant picked for no particular reason, sank into your chair, and something great happened. You were greeted by a charming staff as if you had dined there forever. You were served a fresh unfussy meal in relaxing surroundings. At some point in the meal, you slipped into a zone of foodie contentment bordering bliss. That’s what happens at Casa Modena
“We had some amazing truffle pasta with a deliciously excessive amount of shaved truffle, carbonara, and lasagna.”
